The cover is settled on the Met Office forecast at the check, and on nothing else. From 09:00 on the day you have covered, Rainy Refunds reads the Met Office morning forecast for Matterley Estate for the window from 12:00 to 20:00. If that forecast is for 4 mm of rain or more, an hour and a half or so of moderate rain, the cover pays out. If it is for less, it does not.

How it works on the day

1. From 09:00, as soon as the Met Office publishes its morning forecast, Rainy Refunds takes the forecast for Matterley Estate for 12:00 to 20:00.
2. The forecast is compared with the 4 mm trigger. At or above it, the cover pays out. Below it, the cover ends without a payout.
3. If it pays out, the money is sent to you automatically.

You do not need to do anything that morning. The check happens whether or not you are awake, and a forecast that changes afterwards does not alter the outcome in either direction. That is what makes the result quick and certain.

Why it exists

Five days near Winchester are planned months ahead, and the weather is the one part nobody can arrange. Rainy Refunds exists so that a wet forecast does not also mean a wasted spend. The cover is simple on purpose: one trigger, one window, one check.
